Nestled in the picturesque harbor of Giglio Porto, Trattoria Da Meino is a shining beacon of authentic seafood cuisine that captivates both locals and travelers alike. This family-run gem, boasting over seventy years of culinary tradition and now in its fourth generation, offers a dining experience that feels like stepping aboard a timeless Venetian veliero. The atmosphere gracefully mirrors the maritime soul of the island, with a warmly decorated veranda that provides stunning views over the bustling port, inviting guests to savor their meals amidst the gentle sea breeze and scenic harbor tableau.
The menu at Trattoria Da Meino is a masterful ode to the freshest catch, thoughtfully prepared to honor the vibrant flavors of the sea. Diners delight in delicacies such as the linguine tartufo e gamberi rossi — rich, aromatic pasta intertwined with the earthy nuance of truffle and the sweet, delicate essence of scarlet prawns. Equally memorable are the spaghetti pirata, a dish that teases the palate with daring, balanced combinations of texture and flavor. A standout on the menu is the famous “tartare Meino,” which marries the refreshing sweetness of peach nectarines with a unique double-taste approach — first served as a marinated raw delicacy, then fried for a satisfyingly crisp contrast. For tuna lovers, the torch is carried by the perfectly cooked tuna steak, melting like butter in the mouth with a savory depth that lingers long after the last bite.
Beyond the creative repertoire of traditional seafood, Trattoria Da Meino stands out for embracing inclusivity through its pioneering vegan menu, a rare and welcomed innovation in Italy’s seafood-centric dining scene. This foresight allows the restaurant to cater seamlessly to various dietary needs, showcasing its commitment to exceptional service paired with generous hospitality. Guests repeatedly praise the attentive and friendly staff, whose warm welcome and meticulous attention to detail make every meal feel personalized and cherished.
While the prices reflect the quality and exclusivity of the offerings, many patrons agree that the overall experience — punctuated by spectacular harbor views and a welcoming seafaring ambiance — justifies every euro spent. Whether you are a seafood aficionado seeking unparalleled freshness or a curious traveler eager to immerse yourself in the island's rich culinary heritage, Trattoria Da Meino promises a memorable journey for the senses, a place where every dish tells a story of tradition, passion, and the timeless allure of the sea.
If you're visiting Giglio Porto, missing Trattoria Da Meino would be akin to not truly having experienced the island at all.

We loved this place. The first in Italy to have a vegan menu and make it much easier to order with allergens. My partner had the best tuna he's ever eaten. The staff were lovely and friendly. We went twice.
